Historical and linguistic sources also confirm. The caste system would most likely have been as strict as it was because it was a system of racial segregation. There is no point in learning a language in which you are not, and will never be able to converse. Learning Russian because Gorbatjow? Yeah, if you converse regularly with Russians and/or are able to engage with authentic axpressions of their culture. If these conditions do not apply, how will you know what these people refer to? No. You do not *get* Greek and you are only layering your native tongue with fabricated sounds.
