Therefore they watch these movies and shows to live their “intellectual” life vicariously. It should be common knowledge that most girls care not for the cause of praise but only care for the praise in its essence. Why do you think every girl who had a 3.0 average in high-school was obsessed with Hermoine from Harry Potter?

Of course the author would do this. If the smart people wear “nerd glasses” then those glasses will be associated with being intelligent. Therefore, wether unconsciously or not, art hoes who want to appear smart will wear them to belie those around her who have the same conception of her glasses: that smart people wear them. I wouldn’t be surprised if glasses companies gave a cut of the profit to those who discreetly shill their products if I’m being honest.
