>If one accepts that “the kingdom of Heaven is within you”, then one cannot logically reproach Buddhism for conceiving the Divine Principle in this respect alone. The “Void” or “Extinction” is God—the supra-ontological Real and Being seen “inwardly”—within ourselves; not in our thought or in our ego, of course, but starting from that “geometrical point” within us whereby we are mysteriously linked to the Infinite.
>Buddhist “atheism” consists in a refusal to objectivize or exteriorize the “God within” in a dogmatic form. Nevertheless, such an objectification does occur, in a “provisional” sense, in the merciful message of Amitabha, and it is precisely the possibility of such an objectification that proves Buddhism is in no way “atheistic” in the restrictive sense of the word.
The way perennialists see Buddhism seems so different than when you read stuff actually written by Buddhists. It's so confusing.
