My problem with these notions is that it seeks to espouse an explicitly identitarian view on the dichotomy of sex. Whatever concepts of masculinity and femininity people have in their heads is traded for crude forms of the other.
To be born biologically male and say that you are a woman implies an understanding of the spiritual composition of not only the minds of a men to know what you are not, but the minds of women to know what you supposedly are.
I don't think an extremely intelligent person has a total understanding of either.
Also I understand that this is kind of assholish to bring up, but I don't think it's a stretch to say that if 4/10 people that subscribe to a particular lifestyle see no way forward besides prematurely ending their lives, it's reason to suspect that the common denominator is at fundamental odds with nature.
