When I hear this kinda bullshit I think about the time I have spent with my friend while he was lecturing me on Kanye West lore (this was before he became a based retard).
And then I think about all the girls simping for drake and all the MF DOOM fans laughing at DOOM's jokes and his whole persona. I get reminded of people idolizing different hip hopers and aspiring to get rich like them or teens in the 80s wanting to become the next Hetfield.
These are all "normies"(ik this is a cringe phrase desu), the average listener. They CARE about the artist's persona.
There is hundreds of articles being written about dramas in the industry. Again this is jurnalist slop for the goys.
Even /mu/fags and nerds care about who the artist is.
Art becomes much more interesting when you know that it reflects ones opinions, emotion and experiences.

Normies need a persona.
As such the most popular artists are going to survive.
As for everyone else, well they are not there for the money as they don't get payed. They do it for themselves and as such are not going to stop.
