I was raised catholic and the milk toast nature of the church and the creepy effeminate demeanour of most priests makes my skin crawl. The celebration of weakness and mourning is also one of the reasons i feel off put by these communities.

This being said i feel a great sense of disconnect with the modern world and am really craving connection to a community that has a sense of virtue and still respects beauty and being a better person. How do i find this alongside genuine masculine guidance. Are there gospels i can read that celebrate masculinity?
Or perhaps churches that are less depressing?

For the more spiritually minded of /lit/, do you think that hoarding books, read or not, is a bad thing? Does it not constitute an aspect of entrenchment in samsaric consciousness and is it not materialistic? I don't think that Jesus or Buddha carried books around with them, though they perhaps did read.

Why haven't you developed a system to get rid of the books that you finish by giving them away?

Or better yet, why haven't you burned them?

You're right, I'm sorry I said this thread was for discussing Judeo-Christian literature. I meant to say it was for discussing the literary, philosophical and theological meanings of the ancient and venerable Hebrew Torah as viewed through the lens of Hellenic Jews, who would later be called Christians, and the philosophical traditions they created or which influenced them from antiquity to the present.

Thats good. The next step now is to elevate the call to suffering you embrace
