So the bar prep program is alright so far. It's a mix between:
>video lectures
>content outlines
>practice essay questions
>practice multiple choice
>content questions
>bullshit motivational videos
>lowest common denominator exam tip videos

The bar exam covers quite a few subjects, so it rotates through each of these for each subject with enough time between them. It's a bit overwhelming, and I don't feel like I know anything or remember anything. Reviewing sample answers is pretty engaging, though thats what I did in law school anyway. The web interface is kinda shit. Actually its pretty damn shit. Copy pasted text and iframes within iframes make the whole system lag. Been trying to take more notes myself and reflect on what I've read like other anons suggested. Hard to do it when it keeps giving you more shit to do, but I think its helpful.

Now we turn to the law. Ah, but what exactly is the law, but a miserable pile of secrets. An array of rules and regulations compiled in places too difficult to access by the common man, that once, if accessed, could barely be read or comprehended. But it does not end there. We then continue to the common law, which is not common to the common man. This provides context to the contextless drivel perpetuated by the inherently broken law making system. "Who would you have make the laws?" one would ask. But the true question is the background to which any man would make the law. Would a lawyer without context simply be an indoctrinated mercenary? With all the education $300,000 of debt or daddy money could pay for it is truly a disappointment to see so many of these educated be so uneducated. So we go back to who would make the laws? These are the men who make the laws. The uneducated educated, elected by the common folk, who understand little the work done by anyone in power. So then what laws come from this? Only those ascribed personal gain by those who make them. Ethical guidelines of natural law and morality only become facades for those to make what law they want the law of their jurisdiction. For who would challenge it but another self righteous selfish uneducated educated man. To fight this system one becomes the system. It is a better use of time to watch Mamma Mia on repeat until you scream the name of ABBA as the bullet ricochets around in your skull then it is to combat the powers that be, lest you become one yourself.

I'm too old and not talented enough to be a rock star. I'm just gonna be another lawyer. I don't know how to enjoy my time off. It's the first night I have nothing I need to do really in months. I spent tonight shitposting, jerking off, and smoking cigarettes. When I'm working I always have huge lists of things I want to read/watch/do, and today I was just lazy for the first time in a long while. I even learned how to play a song today. Do I miss who I used to be? A wage slave? What field of law am I even going to practice? I want to be good at something. Everyone writes off being friendly and social. I feel like most people don't see it as a skill. I can't leave the house without running into someone I know. What am I going to do with my life now. I can't ever stick to something for longer than a month. Video games, miniatures, movies, tv, none of this brings me joy anymore. I guess playing shitty cover songs in my room is cathartic. But I'm not good at writing songs either. Oh well. tomorrow we go back to work. I need to stop stopping lifting. God damn. I need to stop stopping everything.

/lit/,

I'm a law student and all these poorly written opinions of judges and ivory tower gap-fillers has me wanting something a little more.

Any law-related book recommendations?

I just recently read through Making Sense of the Constitution, Weaving the Web, and Understanding Power. I just bought William Kuntsler's and John Adam's biographies. I have a big ol' shelf of books the school recommended, but they're mostly trash fiction or books that lie to you about law school.
