Paperbacks will be easier to read most of the time, sure. Assuming they aren't too cramped; certain "pocket" editions seem to be as thick as they are wide and are impossible to read without enacting some violence on their spine, though I suppose that's what the format's for. I still enjoy a nice hardback, assuming they've done a good job of designing, though not all books are worth it. Pic related's from a book of mine about Yeats; the effort put in by the graphic designer is apparent. You wouldn't get that in a regular paperback.
