I have been thinking about this the last few years, OP, and I've come to the conclusion that what is required is not a preservation or even revival of the Old but a REFORMATION of the English language, which has been in active development since the earliest record; from scholars writing fine art, to professionals and men of the world, and then to an increasingly educated public. As Buffon says, "the style is the man".

I want to read all the different best most indepth secondary literature, analysis, commentary, Etc. on Dante/DC/Inferno specifically. (I can read Italian fluently, and also Latin or whatever you want) Can you give me some pointers?
