Hmm, I seem to have accidentally written an epic poem about my idol befriending me and my oneitis being literally the most wonderful woman in history as confirmed by God himself and all my enemies and bullies are suffering forever in Hell, should I try to get this published?

I have been thinking about this the last few years, OP, and I've come to the conclusion that what is required is not a preservation or even revival of the Old but a REFORMATION of the English language, which has been in active development since the earliest record; from scholars writing fine art, to professionals and men of the world, and then to an increasingly educated public. As Buffon says, "the style is the man".

#######

Consider Longinus' traits of Sublime Style:

(1) Great THOUGHTS,
(2) Strong EMOTIONS,
(3) Rhetorical FIGURES**,
(4) Noble DICTION**,
(5) Dignified SYNTAX**.

**Note that these elements may be summarised plainly, yet richly, as like the Golden River of Erasmus:

"The speech of man is a magnificent thing when it surges along like a golden river, with thoughts and words pouring out in rich abundance."

And even Great Thoughts contain within themselves a vitality, with Great Emotions outpouring a roving dynamism in writers like Montaigne. And here I must absolutely point to the vibrant literary imagination of The Holy Bible, which includes: the Greco-Roman Rhetorical Drama that is the Book of Job; the Sly and Smokey ruminations of Qoholet in Ecclesiastes; the Holy of Holies, the flashing, fiery Song of Songs.

And Mueller writes in his '... Development of English Prose Style' that 'Scripturalism', defined as "a writer's molding of his thought and language forms after a recognizable mode or model from the Old or New Testament", is significant in the for the changes and varieties in English prose style between 1380 and 1580. Though I cannot recommend the copious study of all English Prose, I can recommend Osborne's comprehensive 'Hermeneutical Spiral'.
