Why does Orthodoxy basically have a non-existent intellectual and literary tradition compared to Catholicism and Protestantism? Like I know Milton, Dante, Herbert, Hopkins, Browne, Augustine, Pascal, Erasmus, Chaucer, Donne, etc etc etc. And yet I cannot name anyone in Orthodoxy who has any hint of discernible talent. Why is this?

Read the bible, the koran, the bhagavad gita etc. once you actually accept the idea of faith- which, to me was just the recognition that all human knowledge is really just an edifice of arrogance and delusion and that we as humans only pretend to know things as a buffer to keep our egos validated, basically to hold onto "our own" faults- hacks like Nietzsche, Jung and Peterson are no longer necessary.

Now what?

I'm almost finished with Mere Christianity and I'm already dreading it. Are there any other similar books out there (either Christian or of other religions or irreligious philosophy of a similar sort)?

Preferably something with copious amounts of notes, commentaries and annotations like The Jewish Study Bible has.
