I just finished this and I really enjoyed it, even the "boring" descriptive parts about the whale. It's probably the most challenging I've read so far, but also one of the most enjoyable. There are still some things that probably went over my head when reading the book. What do you guys think of it?

Am I the only one who likes the informative/encyclopedic parts of this book? I found that it added a lot to the experience of the book for me. Are there any other books that have information about the subject in the middle like this does?
