>Here began his rapture. Suddenly they were like Runaway Horses breaking free of the yoke. A wild strength flowed into his arms as he held the woman. He clasped her tighter, feeling their two bodies shake like the mast of a plunging ship.
THIS is the greatest author that Japan's ever produced?

>believing in a sky fairy
Muh sky fairy muh sky fairy!

Implying that the Christian conception of God is not
>That God is not an object or substance alongside other objects or substances in the world; rather, He is pure being or existence itself, utterly distinct from the world of time, space, and things, underlying and maintaining them in being at every moment, and apart from whose ongoing conserving action they would be instantly annihilated. The world is not an independent object in the sense of something that might carry on if God were to “go away”; it is more like the music produced by a musician, which exists only when he plays and vanishes the moment he stops. None of the concepts we apply to things in the world, including to ourselves, apply to God in anything but an analogous sense. Hence, for example, we may say that God is “personal” insofar as He is not less than a person, the way an animal is less than a person. But God is not literally “a person” in the sense of being one individual thing among others who reasons, chooses, has moral obligations, etc. Such concepts make no sense when literally applied to God

But im sure you were meming anyway, making this post redundant.

>Modern IR
>Nothing published within the last 20 years
>mfw

Although actually a fairly decent list of what still constitutes mainstream IR. Just that it also shows how out of touch and irreverent IR as a discipline is becoming.

Going to post this quote simply because I just happened to be reading it and it sums up my feelings towards IR perfectly:

"Where once we were all caught in the headlights of the large North American car of
international relations theory, now the continental sportster of critical theories has long
since left behind the border guards and toll collectors of the mainstream – who can be
observed in the rearview mirror waving their arms wildly still demanding papers and
the price of admission – as the occupants go on their way in search of another political
problem to explore."

Seriously, Security Studies is where its at.
