Think not what the Young Republicans can do for you, but of what you can do with the Young Republicans by radicalizing them.

>According to Seneca, Plato died at the age of 81 on the same day he was born. A variety of sources have given accounts of his death. One story, based on a mutilated manuscript, suggests Plato died in his bed, whilst a young Thracian girl played the flute to him.

I'll give you a programme instead, I've been following this one myself and I think it's working out pretty well for me.
Luther, Descartes, Leibniz, Hume (for reference), Kant, Frege, Russell, Wittgenstein, etc.
At the same time make sure he has read Euclid, Newton (mostly for reference, to see the ideal of science, his science is still useful but on the whole antiquated), Darwin (much of what he says in the first edition is still true and biology has barely changed since him. He is a lot more readable than Newton), Feynman Lectures (please do not let your son fall into the popsci meme, the Euclid and Newton was insurance against that. Please make sure he has a solid foundation in the topics Feynman) and then give him a regular course in mathematics.
Additionally a Latin and Greek reader will be good for the lad. Perhaps one day he will be able to recite the Aeneid from memory like Euler, Deo volente.
