I'm new to world of /lit/. I've read a few of the starter books in the sticky and I'm looking to tackle the Bible next. Just a few questions:

1) What version should I read? Specifically, is there any reason I should NOT read the King James Version?
2) What is the best systematic approach to the Bible? That is, should I read a chapter and then look for criticism/commentary or just use a study Bible?
3) What specific commentary/resources would you recommend to best understand the Bible?
4) Any other suggestions or advise?
