yes because according to an agnostic or athiest person death is something bad where you no longer exist or you are in eternal darkness or whatever idea people come up with about it being bad

to a buddhist death means the arising of life in another form and is seen as a negative phenomena in that it leads to more suffering. Nirvana is different from the agnostic/athiest understanding of death because to a buddhist nirvana is the ultimate goal because it ends the capacity for one to experience suffering

insisting that nirvana and death are the same thing misses out on the point that they are two different ideas and two different understandings of something
