tfw no one actually reads the article

>The ancient accounts by Plutarch,[16] Aulus Gellius,[17] Ammianus Marcellinus, and Orosius agree that Caesar accidentally burned the library down during his visit to Alexandria in 48 BC.
>when the enemy endeavored to cut off his communication by sea, he was forced to divert that danger by setting fire to his own ships, which, after burning the docks, thence spread on and destroyed the great library.
>It is most probable here that these historians confused the two Greek words bibliothekas, which means “set of books”, with bibliotheka, which means library. As a result, they thought that what had been recorded earlier concerning the burning of some books stored near the port constituted the burning of the famous Alexandrian Library.
tfw he actually just burned down a pile of books by the docks

Do you ever have a hard time taking yourself seriously?
Sometimes I just feel like I'm a joke. I listen to music I think I enjoy, but sometimes I wonder if I just enjoy it because its 2deep4you kind of stuff. I'm constantly reading high brow literature and I think I understand it, and I think I enjoy it but sometimes I just wonder if it's because I've read that I'm supposed to like it on /lit/.
I go through phases where I'll write shitty short stories that I almost never finish, and lament over the fact that I'll never be good at it. Then I'll go through a phase where I write shitty guitar music that I almost never finish and lament over the fact that I'll never be good at it. Then I get into something else then something ele then I go right back to the shitty short stories and enter the cycle again, never actually becoming good at anything.
I'm twenty and I still feel like an angsty teen.
I just tend to hate myself sometimes.

How do you deal with the fact that you'll never be anything special? That you're just living to marry a 6.5, have 3 kids, a shitty job, then die?

>Kafka sounds cool, I think I'll check him out
>Read The Metamorphosis
>Pretty cool, I like
>Read In the Penal Colony
>Wow this guys good, I think I'll read more
>Start The Trial
50% in and I'm terribly bored and I just want to put it down but I can't bring myself to because it's so short and I might as well finish it.
What's my problem /lit/? Am I missing something? It's just boring.
