They don't like it because it depicts pedophilia, but because the book is a scathing condemnation of the perverted thought process that leads to the sexual objectification and abuse of children. Some people don't see this because they only read the book at a surface level and don't realize that Humbert is an unreliable narrator and is meant to make you feel disgusted.
