As I said, this was before it became a huge phenomenon, even MCU popularized it around the globe.
To be more specific, the entirety of the Cosmere takes place within a dwarf galaxy, within different star systems. Mistborn takes place on Scadrial; Stormlight on Roshar; Elantris on Sel; etc. There was Adonalsium--an entity comparable to 'God'--and a weapon to surpass Metal Gear which caused The Shattering, splintering Adonalsium into 16 fragments. These fragments are/were held by people and the nature of a Shard can influence the individual holding it. Shit happens and here we are without tangenting.

Yev/reviewanon isn't me, and I've lost a lot of my interest in the Cosmere, mainly due to the fact that it'll never be completed. I read Tress and thought it was formulaic. I never finished my reread of The Last Metal. I didn't know this was out but I'll get to it eventually.

>consistent
He displayed noticeable improvement at one point (compare some of his mid-entry works to titles like Elantris) yet has receded back into comfortable repetitive filler (filling?) nonsense. His short stories are among his best entries; his overall works wildly inconsistent. Compare the scope of SA1/2 to SA3/4.
>I am also the only person that likes the second Mistborn series more then the first
Not hard to do when Mistborn Era 2 has some of his few better characters, Wayne being his best, and his writing somehow isn't mostly insulting tedium.
Mistborn Era 1 has retarded shit like Zane, and Mare's death still being RAFO because hurr plot point fuck you Sanderson

Mistborn's Hero of Ages prophecy was well-done.

I'm about to finish this shit: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XZDZWG3 it's the first fantasy/mild-litRPG/advancement/etc. thing I've found where the litRPG element is unknown, i.e., the characters don't know anything about why the 'World Seed' controls the world, remark upon how certain quest rewards are better than others so it's obviously streamlining people into specific courses of action, not a video game or VR (or if it is, the 'players' aren't aware), etc. I've actually been interested in finding something like this so it was only a matter of time. The writing is decent although weirdly graphic/sexual at times. Probably worth a read for its distinctness in the genre.

Afterward, I'll start the Kobalos trilogy with its short story prequel: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004GUSEGW
I've almost hit my yearly book goal so I think I'll continue the trend of increasing it by +10.

I started the first book of the Mage Errant series, Into the Labyrinth, yesterday and finished it just a bit ago. It had a rough start (i.e., poor bumpkin MC gets bullied by rich noble kid) but it turned into a surprisingly fun journey. Pacing was decent, no overuse of forced jokes, and the chemistry between the main characters feels natural. I'll continue with the rest of the series for now.
I'll probably end up finally dropping Regicide (Book 2 of The Completionist Chronicles) because I started it around two months ago and am not even halfway. I like the concept but I don't think I like the writing enough to continue.

The rest of the mainline Dragonlance books are fine although the Mira plot stretched on a bit too long for my taste. The books hold up well.

Recently I finished Edge of Eons, a self-published diamond dozen Western wuxia-type deal. It had well writing in some parts, other parts were trope-y (one character always has a grin, etc.) but the main character is written well enough. The story involves a police officer getting killed and isekai'd to Eon, a world of cultivation due to a dragon god calling in people from "other realms" to fight for him. The story is definitely average, and gets better as it goes along but plateaus. The finale isn't too bad and the epilogue is nice (very short PoV from the town MC & Friends are traveling to of another police officer MC knew who randomly disappeared years previously). One thing that aggravated me was the lack of consistency regarding pronouns, i.e., sometimes uppercase and sometimes lowercase.

A few days back, I finished Towers of Heaven. It was definitely litRPG to the max but the stat screens weren't too obtrusive. Involves MC going back in time to try and save the world, isn't deus ex machina'ing everything yet--just seems to know where to train and how to train effeciently, which is nice. However the underlying plot is fucking boring so far and it's overall a mediocre read. Shame to see the concept squandered so.

I am 80% through Battle Mage. For the most part--as generic of a tale as it somewhat is--the writing is certainly tolerable. Aside from some rather oft-repeated isms (nodding, bowing, etc.), the descriptions and prose tend to be immersing.

Afterwards, I suppose I'll focus on finishing Book 2 of Coiling Dragon while alternating between that, a handful of chapters of Desolate Era a day, and whatever book I focus on next. Maybe I'll finish Darkest Revenge if I can find the interest, or start the first Cradle book.
