There's this old rich guy I'm friends with. I gave him a copy of the manuscript of my first novel and he told me that he could invest in my writing career if I needed. I'm not published. I don't see how money could help me in any way, but I can be wrong. Maybe by trying one of those vanity presses, marketing and then selling the book by myself - but otherwise I don't see how.

Some one rate this pls, I'm going to write it on a birthday gift for a friend (female)

Sun and Moon wandering through the sky
Distant from each other's reach
Destined to ever meet
By the brief gaze of their eyes

This the reason why
For dreams only to arrive
In the fall of every night

In the Poetics Aristotle treats artists as imitators, but not in a bad sense. Artists don't create, they imitate, but in order to do so with excellence you need to observe nature as a scientist or monk would do, with respectful contemplation. Last week I've sit down and read all the stories I've written so far - guess what? They are horrible! I realized I was treating myself as a God, creating stuff from nowhere, when we should strive for the opposite, to imitate nature and in doing so predict the probable and possible future.

I have moneis and a unedited short-story collection. My plan is to hire an editor, pay a designer to prepare everything, buy 100 prints and use the rest of the money to advertise on youtube channels. I'll also send copies to publishers meanwhile. My reasoning is that a "finished product" has more chances to get the publisher's attention than a bunch of clipped paper - and it also shows how motivated I am. Is that a good plan? I've spent the whole last year raising the money.

ignore what all these faggots are saying. Search the /lit/ wikia or the archives for the top 100 charts (there are some entry-core ones as well, i recommend starting with those) and pick at least 10 you find interesting. After you've finished those and got a taste, begin with the greeks.

also, you should at least have a basic knowledge of history. If you don't, take wikipedia trips every day until you do

Kos, or some say Kosm, do you hear our prayers?

But in all seriousness, we really have come too far too fast. Our understanding and our technology has progressed far too quick. The day draws closer in which mankind, unadapted as it is, will collapse under the weight of its own achievements.
