Anyone got up and coming webnovel recs? I've read/tried reading pretty much everything on this rec list by now. The list is almost 3 years old, surely there's a few good ones that have been created in that timespan. Anything works, just generally not a fan of shit like harem Isekai, XianXia/Cultivator shit, or mind-numbing Korean power fantasy. Doesn't have to be action focused, just anything worth mentioning.

A large part of this is rational (notably MOL, PGTE, and WTC). You may also want to take a look at Alexander Wales' short stories as a gentle intro (The Last Christmas, A Bluer Shade of White).
If you liked Blindsight, you may want to take a look at Greg Egan as well.
On a similar note, personally, I believe the Strugatsky brothers to be quite rationalist.
The World of Null-A was a big influence to rationalfic as well.

God Tier:

Dear anons,
This is the web serial anon.
I have thought about the chart I had posted a while ago (4-5 months?) and realized that some of my ratings had been influenced by peer pressure (i.e I inflated the rating because of popularity and undersold some obscure ones). Additionally, I have read some stuff since. I can't be bothered to update the image right now, but here's the new list:

God Tier:

The image of this post are the web novels described.
I'm apparently not included in the target audience for these in the slightest.
Probably most for teens looking for an easily disgestible read that can be binged or read on a schedule and don't read much else.
These are so awful that I wanted to minimize the time I spent doing this, so no prose provided.
I probably shouldn't have even looked at them at all.
I'd much rather actually read the average post in the critique thread.
If you really feel the need, you'll just have to look at them yourself.
I think one of the defining traits of a typical web novel seems to focus on dialogue, regardless of how poorly written, above all else and sometimes to the exclusion of all else. Basically like comics/manga without the images or like a text message novel.
One would hope they'd improve after writing millions of words, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Web novels are the modern pulp in terms of quality, if not worse. Maybe penny dreadful or dime novel would be more accurate.
Don't take the ratings too seriously, because it ought to all be avoided.
I have severe doubts that anything on RoyalRoad would be worthwhile.
I had rated about half of them and then realized it was pointless because after a certain point they became indistinguisbaly bad.

4 = Kýrie eléēson
3 = Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?
2 = mors mihi lucrum
1 = Komm, süßer Tod, komm selge Ruh

And so ends my "rating" of charts.

The webnovel chart anon is actually me and I think that that chart contains more garbage, but the garbage is of a higher quality.
>>13756763
>what did we think?
Contains good ideas, but the writing quality isn't the best. Hard To Be a God was better.
>what was up with that ending? Did Red's wish get granted?
Its kinda like The Crying of Lot 49, your second question is pointless IMO. There's a reason that it end where it ends. There are some interesting interpretations that you should google (the wish resulted in Soviet Union, etc.).
>>13756835
The best part is that the anon running the poll sometimes ignores 500-page book nominations as "too long", but this time 800-pages collection of shit (with a few good authors thrown in) was fine.
