For those of you who dont know it, "El fiord" is one of the best stories in Argentine literature. The only reference in english I could find was this: http://caravanaderecuerdos.blogspot.de/2012/12/el-fiord.html

Its pretty ok I guess, but the "decoder ring" approach to art it shows (characters are diseembodied and turned into abstract metaphors and symbols) really bothers me: suddenly, instead of enjoying the text and what is on the paper, now I have to be looking for secret symbols and abstract, unwritten, ideas.

But anyway, "el fiord" is really a masterpiece.
