I found this book to be quote cozy. It literally suggests putting your feet up and going to the bathroom before beginning as part of the first chapter.

/fit/ user here, what are some books like this and Pale Fire?

I understand how people could see it as gimmicky but I just love it so much.

If On a Winter's Night a Traveller

The way it gets you involved, the fact that it's like 10 different books in one book and yet they all bleed over in a subtle way, and I love Calvino's style in general. He's not afraid of a kind of mathematical/scientific approach to writing, and yet he obviously is in full command of his intuitive, imaginative faculties. It's a wonderful blend.

So far this is it. It isn't profound or anything. It was just so perfect for me at the time. From begining to end :)

Read Italo Calvino. It is post-modernism without the obfuscation but also without reducing to comic schlock. (ie Kurt Vonnegut).

Don't know much about Borges but I know Calvino and Perec were heavily influenced by him. If on a winters not get a traveller is definitely my favorite book so I would recommend that and I am currently halfway through life a user's manual and it has some really interesting bits. The writing style isn't particularly gripping to me but the content is great.

Already reading Borges and Perec.

No book has had me as captivated from start to finish as this, I remember not wanting to finish it because I was worried he would ruin the end and thus make the book imperfect to me. But luckily I didn't have to worry about that :)
