They feel like life is meaningless so they become adepts of some existential bullshit people call "philosophy". Existentialism, the French school specially, is pure garbage, a bunch of dudes feeling sad about everything and throwing up on pages. Kafka or Dostoievski does the job of representating existential anguish a lot better. Those fags liked the "prestige" of being called an intellectual more than being one, they were the Jordan Petersons of their time.
