Help me out, I need the titles of an early 00's series of books.

The protagonists were a pair of twins. The girl could heal with a touch, and the boy could converse with inanimate objects.

In the first book the girl "heals" a baby who died but it returns without a soul and harasses them for the rest of the series. But in the end the baby has a new soul of it's own.

I think in the second book, a lizard bloodies a shield that is a map of the country and where it's blood lands, rain falls IRL. Because he is the true king.
