Despite his job consisting of duties that differed from that of his coworkers’, their principal occupation all remained one and the same. They were the natural evolution of the door to door salesman. Instead of walking from house to house, looking to sell some product, they could instead design ads that are pre-invited into each person’s house, that are on the streets with signs proselytizing each items effectivity and social efficacy without anyone having asked for it, to the place where such parasocial salesmen are the norm rather than the bizarre.
