What are some books about advice in life or life lessons in general?
Lately I've only truly realized that millions of people have lived and died, and some have written down their experiences in books. I want to absorb as much of their wisdom as possible, and I'd appreciate some pointers.
I grabbed Meditations by Marcus Aurelius so far.

Where are my new hardcovers? When do publishers release big classics compilations with some nice matching hardcovers? It seems like they're all from fifty years ago or more. Something like the Harvard Classics or Classics Club sets.

I simply prefer right libertarianism, individualist anarchy, and anarcho capitalism to libertarians socialism. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against libertarian socialists or platformists or any of those folk. I see no problem with voluntarily sharing resources.

>the editing contributed to a misleading image of Wittgenstein as the author of completed works
These sorts of 'misleading images' arise even without distortive editing.

Take our old friend Marcus Aurelius for example. I keep running into people who are convinced that his meditations were some sort of philosophical treatise written with the intent to persuade everyday Romans to be more stoic.

>"To an egotistical, hedonistic modern audience, Marcus Aurelius's strictures on pleasure and the indulgences of sleeping, copulating and over-eating seem neurotic, and Stoicism itself seems over-rational and joyless. Marcus still has a certain vogue, but only because his so-called modern admirers tend to cherry- pick the convenient parts of his doctrine and ignore the rest."
