Can you clarify what you meant by this? Kaczynski is still by far the most penetrating and insightful thinker on technology. Far more so than Mumford or Ellul or Postman or the minor players like Ihde and Borgmann.

Since the technology issue is for obvious reasons the most pertinent and pressing issue of our time you should start with serious philosophy on that topic.

Organization-dependent technology is the problem. In other words, technology that depends on civilization. But I see no issue with individual-dependent technology. For the sake of simplicity, we can call organization-dependant artifacts: technology, and individual-dependent artifacts: tools.

Moreover, its useless to focus on individual-dependant technology as a negative, because there is no realistic way of preventing people from making these things. In contrast, our modern technology relies on a particular social organization. Once that organization breaks down---which is a possibility through spontaneous collapse or revolution--the technology that relies on that social arrangement also breaks down (e.g. ancient rome and its aqueducts, roads, furnaces etc.).

Not only is it unrealistic to eliminate individual-dependent tech, its improper to talk about doing so. Some non-human animals use tools from what I understand. And people view tool making and use as a human right and a natural outgrowth of living in the wilderness. So you'd be truly crazy to focus on also eliminating individual dependent tech (aka tools) and most all people will also think you're crazy --Which is bad if you're trying to build a revolutionary movement.
