The backstory to Lord of the Rings is shit. Nobody wanted this to be made. The Silmarillion is not a real book. There is nothing worth adapting. The intro to Fellowship of the Rings was all you need. Why do people always think the deep lore is good? It literally has nothing to do with the main story.
