/lit/ - Literature

This book is probably going to go down as a classic.
How does that make /lit/ feel?

Anyone else read this? I started reading it three days ago and I'm already at the middle of the book... this shit is just great, I hadnt read anything so compelling from a contemporary author -let alone an american one- in ages. The only thing I dont like that much is all the shit about the rock music scene and all but everything else, the character development, the little details... everything is just great.

I'm 99% sure this is the best book on the shelves of my grocery store's book section

The runner-up is a respectable chick-lit novel by Jennifer Weiner

So... Istarted reading it today and Ive liked it so far, though im only about 30 pages in it. Has anyone actually read through the whole thing? What should I expect? Will I like it if Im not american? (I ask cause a lot of references and folklore in the book seem to appeal to an american notalgia-like sensibility)

Hey /lit/! I do not read a lot of contemporary novels, but I finished "Freedom" last week and thought it was incredible and worth they hype. Has anyone else read it yet?
