I probably have sitting around somewhere Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon and a couple other similar books left over from high school lit class. I don’t like to throw books away even if they’re absolute garbage.

I dont get it. is toni morrison supposed to be a meme? i read 2/3 of Beloved and it just seemed like a mediocre smut novel with the occasional biblical allusion, and i just finished song of solomon and was unimpressed. i liked some of the themes but the prose was awkward and by the end of it none of the characters were believable.
what am i missing anons?
