I'm a published writer and poet. I've had several short stories published and several poems published, not self-published but in actual publications. I've even been published in a pretty prestigious publication.

I am actually trying to get a big story of mine out into the world. It will be a long story told in multiple books. The first book is done and I'm not sure what to do with it. I've written query letters to almost 30 literary agents, none have asked for any pages.

I'm considering self-publishing. Specifically, I'm considering serializing it and publishing it chunks at a time on my Substack page. I have a decent social media presence and I may advertise it on that.

Everyone who has read the story thinks it's really good. So I am not deterred by the lack of agent interest. I want to get it out into the world where the maximum number of people see it. I have also considered publishing it on Wattpad.

Truth told, I dream of telling a very great story. I dream of telling a story that the world has never seen before.

Anon you could always just sit down and make yourself work. Only YOU can make yourself work on your poetry or your fiction, nobody else can do it for you.

I may have wrecked a friendship last night. Not sure how to feel. I'm not sure how to feel in part because I'm somewhat uncertain just how good this friend of mine is/was in the first place.

Roughly. I actually bothered to do it for one of /lit/'s infamous "penis size and favorite book" threads. It was a pain in the ass because I am absolutely a grower, sometimes the stupid thing shrinks away to nothing. So I had to work myself up physically to get it to expand to its full size, and then I had to keep my composure enough to get the tape measurer and measure relatively accurately, instead of just succumbing to the excitement and jerking off.

But I got it done. I'm somewhere between 6 inches and 6 1/2 inches. I'm tempted to try and get a more precise reading, but there's also a part of me that doesn't even want to bother.

Wrote 900 or so words tonight. Finished off a section of the story, too, which was nice.

Still looking for an agent or a small press for my earlier book. No luck so far, though I did submit to a literary agency about two months ago and haven't heard back from them yet.
