Pynchonsissies, not like this…

I'm not sure if this one counts as Lit Fic but it was a blast to read

I'm still fucking trying.

Weirdly nostalgic for the old internet. Some classic pynch fun, but the Jews kvetching about Jews kvetching about Jews is starting to grate.

Does this book get better? Some of it is Ready Player One tier so far. Does Pynchon wind up doing something interesting enough to justify all this reference-heavy writing, or is the whole book like this?

I was 78 pages into this before having to remind myself that fiction is a waste of time. So I went back to read the latest theses on Japanese security discourse.

What were your favorite books from last decade?

I know pic related wasn't Pynchon's best and I know it was a bit cheesy. But it was actually pleasant to get a book filled with the usual paranoia and wackiness but also with the references being to something I could relate to (both in terms of the technological ones and pop culture ones).
