a priest that became a woman would no longer be a priest, because he'd be forfeiting his ability to act as an icon of christ during liturgy, which is why there are no transgendered priests in orthodoxy

Don't get me wrong, I like fr. seraphim, but he's certainly not someone to gawk over. His fixation on niche theology, and the topics he choose to write on, are mostly there to induce fear for the sake of being niche (or vice versa). The most important work he did was being a translator, helping bring texts to the english speaking world, and not being the masturbatory prophet of a dark age converts make him out to be. His major writings, excluding things like 'god's revelation to the human heart', shouldn't be read by those coming into the faith as it is better to come to christ out of love than fear, and fr. seraphim writes mostly about fearful and controversial topics. It's no wonder more orthodox christian converts read people like cs lewis than rose, because one writes to the general christendom while the other keeps himself firmly in the fringe.
Chill out on the aesthetic fetishization of our faith brothers, not everyone who isn't a zealous russophilic traditionalist is an apostate or a demon.
