For me is maybe one of the first fully grown cyberpunk poets. I like him even if I don't agree with his vision al 100% his writtings are truly something to enjoy for mutts like myself.

I hope he is ok.

>but I doubt that Accelerationism is the way that will lead us to still waters.

I don't think that's what /ACC is about... I don't think it is an ideology (a choice) that leads to still waters (peace) for the human subject. I don't think it has to do with any of that.

To me /ACC seems to be more to do with tracing the course of information accumulation systems through the way they grow and transform. From amino acids to multi-cellular beings - from primal 'language' to vast digital libraries on a world-spanning electronic system with translation algorithms making the data contained within ever-more accessible - from a sharpened stick to a nuclear bomb to a computer virus that directly attacks existing infrastructure - I think /ACC tends to think more about complexification of what we might call 'smart systems' in competition with one another and how their development within this dynamic plays out within the grand scale of all history. I don't get the sense that it cares for the human/animal subjects involved in any of this - indeed the radical inhumanity of /ACC, or of trying to view this information complexification process as a sort of thing-in-itself or a thing-without-us entirely separates it from the human element. To /ACC, we are just chemical machines playing the same game as all other information systems. Condensing and expanding information is all we could have ever done.

Check pic related for a really broad overview of Fanged Noumena (Landian accelerationism), then watch this-

https://youtu.be/lrOVKHg_PJQ

for more context on the subject as a whole.

You will then know more about accelerationism than your professor.

An amphetamine junky heretical Marxist academic burnout becoming the gibbering tongue of the future's necrotic deities before they slough off humanity, like gyro-stabilized metallic flies exploding from the bloated corpse of man.

>Meltdown has a place for you as a schizophrenic HIV+ transsexual chinese-latino stim-addicted LA hooker with implanted mirrorshades and a bad attitude. Blitzed on a polydrug mix of K-nova, synthetic serotonin, and female orgasm analogs, you have just iced three Turing cops with a highly cinematic 9mm automatic.

>The story goes like this: Earth is captured by a technocapital singularity as renaissance rationalitization and oceanic navigation lock into commoditization take-off. Logistically accelerating techno-economic interactivity crumbles social order in auto-sophisticating machine runaway. As markets learn to manufacture intelligence, politics modernizes, upgrades paranoia, and tries to get a grip.

>The body count climbs through a series of globewars. Emergent Planetary Commercium trashes the Holy Roman Empire, the Napoleonic Continental System, the Second and Third Reich, and the Soviet International, cranking-up world disorder through compressing phases. Deregulation and the state arms-race each other into cyberspace.

>By the time soft-engineering slithers out of its box into yours, human security is lurching into crisis. Cloning, lateral genodata transfer, transversal replication, and cyberotics, flood in amongst a relapse onto bacterial sex.

>Neo-China arrives from the future.

>Hypersynthetic drugs click into digital voodoo.

>Retro-disease.

>Nanospasm.

If that sounds like your thing, check his older stuff out.

Read this for a quick overview of what accelerationism actually is-

https://xenogothic.com/2019/03/04/a-u-acc-primer/

Then read the Accelerationist Reader for the lineage of the idea as well as its modern footprint.

Land's best work is Fanged Noumena (not that his other stuff isn't worth reading at all, Thirst for Annihilation is pretty cool, but you're here for accelerationism, so you're here for Fanged Noumena). Read the first two things I mentioned and you'll be more or less ready for it, though if you've literally never studied Kant, Marx, or Deleuze and Guattari's work (alternatively if you've never read Lovecraft or Gibson) you might be missing out on a lot. Depends on your background. See also pic related for an overview of FN.

>So is his goal
He doesn't have a goal. He's explaining a process.
>to reach a kind of techno-feudalism where capital has priority over human life? What would that even look like?
techno-feudalism is already here, but technocapital doesn't 'care'. It's intelligent, not sapient. It just expands and improves itself, doing whatever that process takes.

Reading Fisher might actually be more helpful regarding the accelerationist conception of forming ideas toward an 'outsideness' without throwing in a lot of unnecessary jargon and being nigh-unreadable.

I've only skimmed the CCRU book - my take was that it is closer to being a kind of outsideness/actualized accelerationism than it is a sort of attempt at creating a conceptional framework for those ideas (presumably because the CCRU writers already had the conception and were seeking to actualize it in some way). I see the CCRU writings as akin to that chapter of Fanged Noumena where it's basically written in 1337speak. It paints the picture by trying to be what it is describing instead of just describing it.

Then again though I've only skimmed it. #Accelerate would definitely be a better primer to accelerationism than CCRU or even FN honestly.

Alternatively, read this-

https://xenogothic.com/2019/03/04/a-u-acc-primer/

Probably the best way to get a holistic picture of the project.

Is it cyber-Lovecraftian horror-fiction that uses the language of philosophy, or is it a philosophy of invisible horrors that invoke the cyber?

Read and decide for yourself.

as >>12160091 said you should probably understand a decent amount of Kant's epistemology, you should at least know what dialectical materialism is from Marx, and you should have some familiarity with Delueze and Guattari.

Also, you must have read Neuromancer prior to starting. Also watching the Matrix at least once is probably required.
