reading this at the moment. it's great. i am trying to forget that this is the last Culture book, that there are no more, and that he's dead and fucking HARLAN ELLISON IS STILL ALIVE.

THERE IS NO JUSTICE.

I just finished pic related, reading it knowing its Banks' last book made it a bit more heavy hitting. I can't help but feel like he was very conscious of his mortality in this book and it came out in the grand story itself and the stories of individuals... Especially considering he knew he was going to die early, due to his condition.

Anyway, where do I go from here? I really couldn't say much other than I don't know why I loved the culture novels so much, no books since have turned pages like these ones have, from A Brave New World to V. by Memer Memechon.
