Monthly reminder: If you crave more ASOIAF you should read J. V. Jones Quintet Sword of Shadows. It even has the last volume still unfinished for over a decade because of reasons. It's the most GoT-esque fantasy books I've read that still have their own unique idiosyncracies.

Stop what your doing and look up J. V. Jones Sword of Shadows series. There's 4 books out of a planned 5 (she's working in the last book now) They're amazing grim fantasy and are the closest thing to ASOIAF I've ever read. Give Cavern of Black Ice a try and I guarentee you'll get hooked.

If you need tided over, this series is as good as ASOIAF and comparable, right down to the missing final book. It's unique in its own right too.

This shit is so good why isn't this series shilled instead of all the shitty authors like Bakker and Sanderson. 200 pages in and I can't put it down.

Is it worth getting into? I've only read the Barbed Coil from her and thought it was a decent and different kind of fantasy.
