I don't think is a terrible subject, but it is far too biased for an academic work. Considering this phenomenon is new in its understanding, it really depends how open minded your professor is. Try focusing more on capitalism, alienation, consumerism, materialism, cultivated identity and the deification of leisure. If you're feeling confident, throw in post-left critiques in their as well.
