In English or in Latin? If you're reading translations, I suggest reading pic related. It's a good starting point for Roman literature, doesn't take too long to read, and you can see which authors you like without wasting time on those you don't.

Just read pic related, and I think it's a really good way to get exposed to important writers of that time period. Now, based on the selections I read, I know which authors will be most appealing to me.

Do you guys like anthologies, too? If so, post some good ones in the thread.
