>A Hero of Our Time
>Grigory Pechorin is a bored, self-centred, and cynical young army officer who believes in nothing. With impunity he toys with the love of women and the goodwill of men. He impulsively undertakes dangerous adventures, risks his life, and destroys women who care for him.
Based Pechorin, based Lermontov

What does /lit/ think of this? I've heard good things. Did you read it? Did you like it?

I've been meaning to read this one and I noticed that Nabokov did a translation. Is it good enough to warrant reading it even if I'm a ESL? Is Nabokov as good a translator as he is an author?
