>i think that the institutional force is a key differentiating factor.

It's an important factor to consider, but I don't think it differentiates propaganda from art. That would mean image related is not propaganda, since it was made by some incel nazi with mspaint.

>the term propaganda was not rejected until the mid 20th century due to its association with the nazis.

I think that's absurd, and propaganda. The victors write history, so the USA, which was engaged in propaganda just as heavily (even moreso, we had Hollywood) tried to frame propaganda as some 'Axis' thing. A good way of making people stop recognizing your propaganda as such.

I don't really get what people mean by this, nor the copes for it. I genuinely just want to die, but I don't want to die without dignity. I only want to 'live my life', by which I mean find love, raise a family and have a fulfilling career, all so I can die with dignity having lived a good life. Living that good life is the problem, not the death.

For the record I don't believe in any afterlife to reward me, nor do I fear any just punishment.

An entirely reasonable critique of civilisation with only one fault: The overly optimistic belief that it can be solved.

Seems to rely on the same attachment to people's concept of self. Apparently it's disconcerting to not know how this one organ is processing information (which we're supposed to be), even though the thing has been running more or less fine for a couple millenia, even though all our discoveries have been made, not by chance, but because we've been looking for secrets, even though there's no evidence anywhere for a real permanence, conceptually, but hey we're still going to keep mapping this place because that's very important, and it shows in that we can make a giant fart machine in outer space because we have an inferiority complex and can't stand silence (which doesn't even exist anyway).

It's so tiring. If I had access to a billion libraries of Alexandria I would nuke them all, one button at a time. You people and your mental pacifiers.

Are there any good books on the topic of globalization? What are our possible futures?

It seems like anti-globalization sentiments is one of the main driving forces of the populist anti-immigration movements growing across the west and it really cuts right through the whole right-left dichotomy.

We have the people who sees open borders as a way for businesses to lower wages, destroy group cohesiveness and to weaken political institutions. On the other side we have the people who sees open borders as a necessary step towards the unification of people across the globe.

I don't know what to make of it. I always thought of nation-states in the same way that I think about religious institutions. It's a way to effectively organize different groups and make people work together towards a common goal. Eventually we could do away with them when the time is right but that time isn't now.

Or the negrified judaized mulatto hybrids of the future will read this thread with deep melancholy knowing they are ugly abominations brought into this world by misguided, resentful utopianists, and their origin is bound up in dark kabbalistic evil. Likely, though, they will be too stupefied and gratified by Coca-Cola Extreme™ and Internet pornography to feel mystical emotions. Sad!
