This board is incredibly resentful due to people desperate for answers needing to attack other people to maintain their worldviews. If you feel intimidated, don’t worry, because a lot of posters here feel the same, and the only way to get over it is to spend enough time in the “void” by allowing works to challenge who you are by engaging with them as if you’re connecting with the author in a conversation. Since you’re interested in reading, I recommend you start reading whatever you’re interested in alongside stoic philosophy, religious texts, 19th-20th century russian lit, and the greeks. After that, if you’re interested in philosophy, you can skip to the 18th century (Berkeley, Hume, Kant), 19th century (hegel, kierkegaard, schopenhauer, Nietzsche, marx), 20th century (Bergson, heidegger, frued, Jung, postmodernism) and accelerationism. Note I don’t agree with most of the stuff I listed, but everything has an ounce of truth to it, you just need to see truth from various angles before you can get to it. Bruce Lee: “don’t focus on the finger pointing to the moon for you will miss out on heavenly glory.”
Be willing to challenge everything you read and learn, be aware of your desire find security in answers even if they’re wrong, have faith in something to keep you from drowning in despair as you continually defeat the answers that you’ve accepted. Remember to constantly be willing to make friends and to strive to understand other people. If you stick through it long enough, you’ll find the answers
