Not true at all, anon. Automated machines are able to get far higher tolerances than any human can. The only factors that matter is time and cost, how much does the customer want to invest in the part. I am on hand to fabricate a quick part or fix a broken part or even clean and face parts if need be. It may suck the soul out of it, but they no doubt said the same thing before interchangeable and standardized parts became popular. No doubt nail-makers said the same thing
