Can we not put to rest this false idea of cultural appropriation once and for all. True Native Americans (insofar as there are such people, living in communes etc) do not give a shit about the authenticity of their culture.

What we all have to realise is this notion of authentic and "canonical" culture arises from our own western globalist culture and our own sense of alienation.

Indeed this conservationist attitude is so misguided that it is if anything more damaging than total cultural destruction. What these people would like for "natives" and "ethnics" is nothing less than idealised revisionist culture originating from within the perverse minds of our very own global capitalist culture and this is so toxic that death would be a better end. It is like saving a polar bear from a melting ice cap only to have it dance in a circus for peanuts.
