Why does it seem like Lit hates women so much? I've heard so many people on this board say that women have written nothing of value, is it just a meme or do people seriously believe that? Reading To the Lighthouse and it's one of the most enjoyable experience I've had reading.

I liked this a lot even though it was written by a woman, took a lot of concentration to read though.

What does /lit/ think of this book? I read the introduction and was instantly hooked.

This shit here. Maybe it makes me an idiot but fuck me of this shit isn’t hard to follow. I’m not sure whos talking, who’s thinking or if they’re actually talking out loud or thinking in the first place or if they’ll ever get to the lighthouse or just think and talk about how nice it would be to go. I’ve tried four times to read this shit over the past two years.

One of you claimed a couple weeks ago that this had the most immersive prose they've ever read but really it is just so fucking mediocre. Why do you always lie to me /lit/?

Any opinions on "To the Lighthouse"? I finished it yesterday, and felt the book was well put together, and conveyed a lot of important messages about time, family relationships, and the meaning of life.

How's this compared to her other works? I've read Mrs Dalloway, The Waves and some of her short stories. Eh, I guess it won't be as good as The Waves, but it will still be solid Woolf. To make this thread more pointless, let's have a Woolf general.
