I am in a very similar situation, 29 years old, just carved out a small living for myself to be alone and I try to live quietly.

Probably the best thing you can do is work out and, no meme'ing, start with the Greeks, work your way through the Romans and into Christianity. There is a great deal there that will help you come to terms with your existence. I think I will always be alone and probably never achieve anything noteworthy, and your life will probably be the same, but that is okay.

Anyone here ever translated a work? I'm currently translating a foreign poetic play and creating a "version" of it in English and I want to ask: I'm effectively taking the meaning of each person's dialogue and rewriting it in my own language BUT what they are saying is still really close to the original's meaning, I'm just ignoring the original play's meter and stresses in favour of my own. I also haven't changed the setting or action and only added a few lines of my own. Is this frowned upon? Is it okay to take a play and reinterpret its language like this to draw fresh meaning or am I abusing another's hard work and bastardising it?

High school was boring. We never studied anything I hadn't already read. My teacher was an old fat christian black lady that used to randomly volunteer me to explain things to everyone when I was trying to sleep at my desk and she told the whole class I slept all the time because I was in a deep depression. She was right and I'm still a miserable piece of shit.
