I shall venture scribbling High Fantasy. Farewell, I must be off now

I am writing a philosophical dialogue which I plan on publishing sometime soon, and in it I managed to reason myself into an argument or idea which if the Christian or religious folks got a hold of might only serve to puff up their haughtiness. It is not that I am anti-Christian or anti-religion per se, but one recognizes who argues with the true spirit of inquiry and who argues only to dismantle and remain brittle; never conceding a point in the face of contradiction; never humble enough to admit confusion; never being modest over some little victory. I am not sure I should even humour such people. It doesn't even logically follow from what I wrote that the pre-existence of God is inevitable; it might even follow that there is no pre-existent God. I don't know. It might be too dangerous to publish this out into the world. I'm sorry... I just wanted to make a living.

Anon, writing communities exist, especially the ones engaged with Amazon & Patreon. There are discords with authors collaborating and circle-jerking each other, especiallyfor authors of LitRPGs/Progression Fantasy stuff. You look at Amazon and Patreon and see the same names. You see them reviewing each other on Royalroad and other sites, supporting each other, using the same few audiobook narrators. Micro-cosmos of big publishing.

But they only engage with their genre. Fantasy authors at best read Pratchett, GRR Martin or Wheel of Times. Anything older than 30-40 years could just as well not exist. Well, some reference the greeks or some latin writers, but that's about it.

It must be remarked upon there're actual writing cliques, especially on Reddit where they rule subreddits with over 50k users and steer the discussion towards their own works. Shit's wild.

I don't have anything lofty like that.. I really liked David Eddings' fantasy series, the Belgariad and the Mallorean. There's a closeness of family and friendship and light banter with the characters I really liked while not straying from the high fantasy adventure formula.

>I tried reading it. Gave it an honest go. But it got so fucking bad when MC got to civilization that I just couldn't go on. Does the author ever learn how to actually write dialogue and human interactions?
Not really? The author has his own unique way of writing dialogues...to be harsh, uniquely bad. They are really weird most of the time, but then at some point most of the characters aren't even human, so on a meta level it kind of makes sense. But it's the author's weird flaw, yeah. He got better by writing the story, but for some reason hadn't improve much in construing proper dialogue, despite saying he purposefuly learned more about the craft. Maybe he just likes it this way. The way people act is one of the weirdest part of part of the story, and the range of their thoughts is unsatisfying. But I don't think anyone reads Azarinth Healer for naturalism and deep questions about human nature.

>In Russia we have cool series of sf books from non English writers. We have lads from Italy, France, Chez but mostly from Poland.
>And there is this guy Dukai Jacek. He is incredible. Absolute legend and legit mastermind. Only some books from Greg Egan come close in scope and intelligence to him. You missing out a lot friends. Why on Earth Poland of all places have so many good sf writers?
Dukaj is weird as fuck, I think I read one book of his short stories and were like 'Nah.' Current polish writers in general are pathetic. It's mostly boomer stories about badass middle-age men fighting and fucking, but in the most cringe way possible. Not to mention boomer conservatism, I guess it would the equivalent of American rednecks.
It's been like that for years. The fascination with old slavic stories is the worst, even Sapkowski, The Witcher's author, wrote an essay on how weird those people are.

But now that you mention it, I might actually consider looking into fantasy from local slavic countries, although I guess not many of that would be easy to find on the internet. Annoying. Russia is mostly known for Litrpgs these days, with The Way of the Shaman and similar. All about yougn struggling men and corrupted officials. Meh.

In the meantime, I'm going to check that old Dystopia 'We.'

So, this is going to seem like I'm sidestepping your point but I would recommend Charles Sanders Pierce's work on hypoststic abstraction.

Justice, piety, love, beauty, etc. are merely names that we've attributed to conceptions of collections of materially instantiated qualitative properties AND OR potential qualities that have yet to instantiated materially yet can have the possibility of their instantiation deduced via the tracing of the consequences of hypothetical boundary conditions such as those found in the domain of mathematics.

Hard truth is that magic system has only two major goals:
1.Make the world feel magical and fantastic, as make it different from ours in interesting ways
2. Allow for protagonist/other character using the magic system in epic/unusual ways that suprises the reader and creates some amazing scenes

Everything else is just world-building autism and fluff

I wanna start writing a fantasy story because I want to create my own interesting world filled with characters, lore and whatnot. I also want to publish it, so other people can read my work and perhaps find some joy in it.
I already have some scenarios and characters I wanna expand on. However, I have hardly any experience with writing stories, except for the few times I had to in school (which is probably worthless).
And needless to say, my English isn't the best (my 2nd language),so I need to acquire better vocabulary. I'm basically brainstorming a bit in this post, but I'm going to check out the relevant links in the OP.
Keep on writing, it's a cool hobby. I wish you the best

I am starting to think this meme is esoteric by nature.
To make it easier to understand I will however give the explanation right away. The "B" "pepe" talks about is the Essence of all : God, and the essence of yourself and of the happiness Wojack is in search of. Pepe explains to Wojack (the psychic) that the nature of existence can't be defined and so can't be searched through limitation or definition.

E. is entirely
B. is expressed in the same way as "be".
You can go indefinitely in the search of the "be" (B) to know what it is.
B is to B.E. entirely. That means the being contains the Entirety.
Your search for the nature of "be" is impossible to succeed, nor your search of yourself if you search a definition of it, if you search to limit it.

Pepe leaves us with this aporia : what is the "B" ? The infinitely above any expression, unconcerned by analytic search. He shows we can't find it's nature by way of deduction or definition. "It" is beyond. It shows the vanity of the search for the nature of existence through existence itself. Because one being, or defined existence is funded upon another and the other upon another, "and so on ad infinitum".
You can't find the first cause through the chain of causality, you can't find the entirety of the "B.E." in the limitedness of a defined expression.

This expression has no meaning because it express the mystery of all, the All beyond any. It express the mystery of the Being is beyond the beings.

If a psychic like wojack leaves his search for ideality of happiness in the limited existence, if the wojack gives up any definition or limitation of the essence of the B.E. then he will find the all and in it there is indeed everything including the girlfriend.
But most importantly, the analogical girlfriend pepe (or of the spiritual master who made this meme) "had in mind" was the pure blissfulness of the infinite Wojack (us) can unite with if he accept the wisdom, or in other words he had stopped to delimit the Being into a specific form (of a girlfriend in this case, which he thinks will bring him the absolute happiness). He search for a definition of the pure being, he unconsciously search the pure blissfulness, but pepe breaks all his illusion by making him feel intuitively that if you "search" happiness you will not have it. By nature happiness, or God, is beyond.

Sorry anon if I were too wordy, this meme can unironically be meditated for hours. What also makes it even more disturbing is how it shows without saying, proving it is not just philosophic but is a more intuitively inspired and can even work on people not understanding it, like a metaphysical seed. The last panel clearly shows it, at the same time keeping it esoteric.
