Write in poem-form whatever you're thinking/feeling.

A warm-up.
That’s what all of this was from the beginning.
I can see it in your eyes. You’re trying to convince me.
Have you convinced yourself?

Have you ever listened to music? Some of it is meant to make you happy.
It makes me sad. That is the mark of a poet.
Sadness, a shiver in the body
A mind not meant to react
Saying “carry on, carry on, till the day is done,”
And you carry on, beating against the current,
Waiting for those little shivers up and down,
Feet to fingers,
Saying “remember? You’re alive”
And there are 7 billion, people, apparently. I know none of them.
Maybe 3 would say I know them.
I’m in my corner here, trying to feel something.

The image of a dead child, make of melted crayons. The gravity of the world
Makes the colours somewhere beautiful
The beauty and death juxtaposed. Juxta is to join. Jung is to join, Yoga is to join.
That’s what I feel. How should we feel beauty in any other way? But from something
Dead coming to life?
It is the last snowfall of the year.
That February snowfall we all know. It’s here. It’s here.
From weeks, months, away (you’re reading this in june) you’ll never understand. The last snowfall is here.

Ehhhhh.... The nuclear grenades and unexplained trisolarian cults were a little damaging to the Three Body Problem's narrative elements.

Still 100% worth reading, but I won't pretend the story itself is anything magical.

Essential who gives a fuck core?

I'm looking for non-fiction on how stuff we occupy ourselves with ultimately doesn't matter.
So far on my list are the Tao Te Ching, Sextus Empiricus, Nietzsche and Wittgenstein.

I like how he is correct but for the wrong reasons since it is PRC's belief that it has a divine right to "lost territories"(i.e anywhere china has ever claimed dominion over in recorded history) that will be the justification behind any attempts to conquer other nations and likely lead them to their ruin

>A more troubling example of irredentism can be seen in an article which appeared on the website of the Chinese news agency Zhongguo Xinwenshe (Chinese, English translation here) in July this year. Entitled ‘Revealing the Six Wars China Must Fight in the Coming 50 Years’ (曝光中国在未来50年里必打的六场战争), the article is another manifestation of the hyper-nationalist attitude seen within some parts of the PLA. However, that an article of this nature was carried by a PRC national news agency suggests that it was approved at a very high level.

>The six ‘inevitable’ wars suggested in the article’s title are presented in the chronological order in which they will take place:

>The war to unify Taiwan (2020–2025)
>The war to recover the various islands of the South China Sea (2025–2030)
>The war to recover southern Tibet (2035–2040)
>The war to recover Diaoyutai and the Ryukyus (2040–2045)
>The war to unify Outer Mongolia (2045–2050)
>The war to recover the territory seized by Russia (2055–2060)

>I enjoy reading romantic light novels and shoujo manga more than I enjoy reading any real literature.
I tell people my favorite book is a tossup between Vineland and Orlando, but it's actually Spice and Wolf.
