I was wondering what /lit/ thinks about how their mind works and how that affects their experience reading/writing.
I've been thinking a lot about 'aphantasia', where the subject has no mind's eye, and about that whole 'inner monologue' thing. Being that I don't narrate in my head, at least in words, I imagine that my experience reading a stream-of-consciousness book is gonna be quite different from someone who can relate more literally to the prose. Likewise, I wonder what I enjoy about imagery in literature, being that it evokes no images in my mind.

So I’ve been noticing that lots and lots of you are catholics round these parts. It’s been steadily increasing for two years without fail.

Admittedly it does seem to be the more /pol/ orientated subsection. Usually marked with the appropriate ‘red-pill’ and Peterson labels and such. But I just wondered as to why?

>The Catholic Church supports once ‘degenerate’ causes, bending to the will of modern ideology in order to remain culturally acknowledged, ever parasitic, especially when considering that way back yonder when they held far more power, they exerted their influence by oppressing free speech and translation of texts
>Demonstrates the power of God via decadent means, ie golden ornaments, suggesting the grandeur and ultimate truth of Christian faith in material terms. This point will anger some, I’m not denying that some of very best art ever was created towards this end, what I mean is more in line with the capability of the Catholic Church to resolve world hunger should they choose to sell the entirety of the Vatican’s assets, not that I agree they should do this either, but rather questioning why the Catholic Church differs to other more ascetic, iconoclastic or luddite abrahamic tendrils
>Corrupted translations, I don’t have much firsthand knowledge of this but from what I understand of Jehovah’s Witnesses as other Christian sects, they dispute the accuracy of the renditions of the bible that Catholics value. They deny: the trinity, heaven as not a place on Earth, the existence of hell and claim Greek (Platonic) perversion of ideas
>Retrospective editing of the Bible (Apocrypha)
>Questionable institutional practises
>Do not disclose and publish the full extent of their collection, secrecy

Is this just some nu-crusade mass delusion? desperate attempts at spirituality, morality, forgiving themselves as modern degenerates? edgy teens? larpers? NPCs?

Educate me /lit/ please
