How does one justify disliking a book by saying the prose is bad?

I've done this many times.

Is there something wrong with that?

How do you explain it to others besides saying you didn't like the prose?

Isn't it usually a result of you not liking any of the other aspects of the book yet not being able to literate your thoughts on them so you off hand dismiss the prose as the cause?

Do other factors of a book affect the prose of it somehow?
