Because it presents the themes of Wagner's Ring Cycle in an easily consumable form.

He was pre-emptively btfo by Wagner. Though one must at least admire his tenacity in going on despite that.

Nietzsche was an idiot who was in self-denial that Wagner completely flipped his worldview on its head. Wagner's Parsifal utterly disproves all of Nietzsche's assertions about strength, Christianity, and morality, though it must also be understood that the majority of Nietzsche's famous writings, which came after Parsifal and Wagner's death, were in response to Wagner's work and was trying to create a denial of said work's essence. The result is incoherency. Unfortunately for Nietzsche, he did not have the genius that Wagner did, though I will admit he came up with some novel conclusions.

>just friends with Nietzsche for a while and copied his ideas
Other way around. Sneedche was a total fanboy of Wagner and copied/expanded upon (If I'm being charitable) the ideas expressed in Wagner's early work when he put them into The Birth of Tragedy. Then Nietzsche started growing distant from him and had his entire worldview upended when Wagner made Parsifal and perfectly joined the Christian Spirit with the heights of Art, and proceeded to cope and seethe his way into insanity. Almost all of Nietzche's later works are best understood as a reaction against Wagner and trying to reassure himself that it was Wagner, not he that was wrong.

Mindbroken by Wagner. His post-Parsifal seething proves it. Plus, he had been mentally unwell for some time and it overwhelmed him.

>He went crazy to uncertain causes
Wagner unintentionally btfo'd him so hard with Parsifal Neetzche realised it was all for nothing.

Am I better off going to the opera or reading Neetzky?
